Ecumenical School for Dialogue will be held in Lviv

The first English-speaking Ecumenical School for Dialogue “Creating Friendship through Dialogue: Ecumenism in Action” will be held in Lviv on September 1-13, 2019.

The event is organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies. Students and young researches are welcome to participate in the school.

Archbishop Borys Gudziak, the Pesident of UCU, to receive Notre Dame Award

Ukrainian Archbishop Borys Gudziak, the Pesident of the Ukrainian Catholic University, a visionary leader in the Catholic Church and higher education, will be presented with the Notre Dame Award in a ceremony June 29 in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., announced Monday (May 6).

Olisaemeka Oranebo successfully defended his Master’s thesis at DLMPES

Implications of the Evangelical text of Luke 10:1-12 for the peacebuilding in Nigeria was the topic of the master’s thesis of Rev. Olisaemeka Oranebo, which he officially defended on February 28.

For the sign of unity

On January 24, on the initiative of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies a common prayer, which was attended by Christians of different denominations was held at the Philosophy and Theology Faculty of UCU. The prayer took place within the framework of the World Prayer Week for Christian Unity.

George Staelens-Sfasie obtained master’s degree in ecumenical studies

An online master’s defense was organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies UCU, where George Staelens, the DLMPES’ student, presented his thesis before the board of the academic commission.

Prof. Dr. Annemarie Mayer had an online lecture at DLMPES

The delegation of the Catholic University of Leuven, presented by Dr. Peter de Mey and Dr. Annemarie Mayer, visited the Ukrainian Catholic University. Prof. Mayer, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven, conducted a lecture for the DLMPES’ students on “The Ecumenical vision of Pope Francis”.

In UCU prayed for the Christian unity

On Monday, January 22, Institute of Ecumenical Studies organized a traditional prayer for the unity of Christians and peace in Ukraine in the Сhapel of the Philosophical and Theological Faculty of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
